The Architecture programme

The Architecture programme in VFU is based on the balanced mixture between theory and practice, provided by mostly young, yet experienced architects. It started in 2002 with huge enthusiasm and the promise to provide quality education at affordable fees.

The programme is tightly related to the highest accreditation standards in Bulgaria and EU for architectural education, covering all the necessary topics in architecture. Students learn the architecture practice by creating studio projects in different fields such as industrial buildings, residential buildings, public buildings, urban planning, interior and exterior design, reconstructions etc. Besides the studio projects the lecturers are providing all the necessary theory information from history of art and architecture to modern concepts in energy efficiency, urban studies, architectural design etc.

At VFU we also provide the full concept for multidisciplinary approach by inviting lecturers from the fields of arts, engineering, social studies and economy. We provide our Architecture program both in Bulgarian and English.

What Is Architecture?

Look around. Architecture is all around. You live with it, you fall asleep and wake up in it. It’s your built environment. Structures, streets, cities. They are manifestations of artistic tendencies, cultural distinctiveness, ecological and social conditions. Amidst good architecture, you feel at ease. You are fascinated by the effect of spaces, forms, light and materials. This is why architecture is also an art – the art of creating our built environment. It’s planning the way people live and feel. That’s what architects do and much more than that. All that you will learn with our Architecture in English programme.
